The Splendid Syphilis

The Splendid Syphilis
'The Splendid Syphilis' began with a phrase written by Guy de Maupassant, a writer, in a letter.
The disease which had led fifteen percent of the 19th century European population to death
ironically motivated a number of artists to create masterpieces by madness from itself.
Artists who long for a historic artworks, therefore would bare all pain from it,
and feel like all dreadful symptoms look splendid.
Then, who could perceive 'displaced value of beauty' would produce a once in a lifetime masterpiece.
